We held our NY May Geekup at Fog Creek Software's plush Financial District office. Over 40 People Geeks gathered to enjoy stunning views, appetizers, and an extensive candy bar. Damon Klotz, Head of Digital and Community moderated an interactive panel discussion with Jude Allred (CTO), Allie Schwartz (VP of People & Operations), and Nancy Hawa (Support Engineer) of Fog Creek Software.
Panelists shared insightful stories about how Fog Creek’s culture has evolved over the past 15 years and how they are thoughtfully addressing hiring, perks & benefits, flexible work environments, and keeping traditions (mix-tapes are still a thing!) to foster a culture that make Fog Creek employees love working there. They were vulnerable with us as well and we got to hear about times like, what happens when a co-founder decides to take on a new role and becomes less visible.
People Geeks got the opportunity to reflect on what was shared and tell each other stories about what they’re seeing at their organizations around topics like organizational change and on-boarding best practices.
The night ended with more networking and a few more visits to the candy bar. Thanks again to all who attended and to our amazing hosts at Fog Creek Software!
